My head is filled with music
Hey guys,
Today is thursday and what does it mean? Exactly: I present you my favourite songs of the week! Actually I should start with my second assignment. Well, I will do this after I shared with you some stunning songs I love to listen these days.
I've seen, that 54 people had a look at one of my first articles. Crazy.. I didn't know, that there is really someone reading this stuff here.
The first song inspired me to choose the title for this article.
The Real McKenzies_My Head Is Filled With Music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kohl-1_ZkUo
What a fucking great song! I like bagpipes and Folk-Music. The Real McKenzies are a folk-punk band from Vancouver (Canada). The funniest thing about them is, that the name of the singer is McKenzie but that wasn't the reason for chosing this name as bandname. Actually the name's inspired by the cheapest sort of Scottish Whisky.
Talking of bagpipes I want to advice you another song but it's not folk-punk.
Nightwish_I Want My Tears Back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV2C9_MAJ0E
Don't ask me why but I hated Nightwish for a long long time, although they're obviously great! Tuomas Holopainen is a great songwriter and keyboarder and Tarja Turunen was a wonderful singer (you should check out their cover of The Phantom Of The Opera). Now Anette (or how her name's written) is the singer and her duet with male singer and bassist Marco Hietala is so great! Listening to that song I just imagine how Michael Flatley dances a riverdance on a Nightwish concert ;). Check it out if you like!
The Black Pacific_Living With Ghosts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxIarHCGo84
Some of you may have noticed, that former singer Jim Lindberg of the legendary punkband Pennywise left the band a few years ago. Zoli Teglas (Ignite) is now frontman of Pennywise. Lindberg is creating music with another punkband called "The Black Pacific" since 2010. This song her remembers me to another song but I don't know which song! xD
Last but not least
Rancid_ Fall Back Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BWBrcF7sWQ
Last year I finally bought an album of them (Let The Dominoes Fall). I'm pondering all the time to introduce you in another blog to this band. The name of this music group is Rancid. Fronter Tim Armstrong was engaged with Brody Dale (awesome woman) and he's related with Green Day singer Billy Joe Armstrong. But enough for now. The song I want to show you is called "Fall Back Down". It's a calm punkrock song. Love it!
That's all folks ;)
Thanks for reading! By the way I want to apologize for my badass English! I try to improve it and therefore I practise here.

Stranger
You couldn't wait, you couldn't wait
The time has come to face your fate
We can't help, we can't help
All we do is just to wait
And when we leave, when we leave
You suffer more than we believe
Cause you're alone
You're on your own
From breaking dawn until the eve
And I'm sorry, Yeah I'm sorry
For all wrong words in our story
Never meant to disrespect
No, never meant to disrespect
What is wrong, what's going on
This awful fate has striked you down
You can't stand up on your own
The darkness comes into your frown
I'm a stranger, I'm an outland
The lost memory takes your hand
In hope, you remember my name
Even though it will never be the same
We get along, we get along
My hope still hasn't gone
Just be strong, just be strong
It's a strange life all along

What the fuck is up? :)
Hey my dears!
HAVE YOU HEARD, that Chad Kroeger (frontman of Nickelback) is going to marry Avril Lavigne!?
Crazy shit! :D I didn't know, that they're in a relationship but they ARE in a relationship for six months now. Interesting, that nearly nobody knew this.
I've thought, that it would make sense to show you my favorite songs of the week - not every week of course but when I want you to show some bands without talking the whole stories about them this might be the easiest way.
Maybe there are some nice suggestions for you!? ;)
Misfits_ Dig Up Her Bones
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN87uMNwrYk
This is such a wonderful song! Glenn Danzig has a wonderful voice and a damn cool name as well :D. BUT it's not sung by Glenn but by Michale Graves, who has a damn awesome voice as well. It is a calm song played with an acoustic guitar and sung with a kinda men choir. NICE!
Social Distortion_Story Of My Life
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skOqTXXgNP4&feature=related
Well... I just love the guys and "Reach For The Sky" and "Story Of My Life" were the first songs, I've heard of Social D. I have a crush on this band and this will never end :D.
Negative_Sinä Ja Minä (cover version)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKr4IBNKC-U
This song comes actually from "Dingo" but I love this cover version. I listen to it for years. The meaning of the title is "you and me". It's Finnish language. Very dramatic song I think and Jonne Aaron's voice is amazing.
Have fun with these songs!

His Infernal Majesty
My favorite poet, singer, songwriter, artist and kinda philosopher?
VILLE VALO!
Yeah, he is great, I think. I'm addicted to his songs and the melancholic sound of Ville's voice fitting perfectly to the stuff he's singing about and to the whole LOVE-METAL sound of HIM.
HIM is one of those bands, where I have my problems to name my absolute favorite song. I really love "salts in our wounds", "join me (in death)", "the sacrament" or .. well I could go on with that xD haha.
Actually I wanted to share with you, that this very awesome band has just pronounced, that in 2013 their new album "Tears On Tape" will be released.
I'm sooo happy because there were some rumors claiming the end of HIM - I was like "what the fuck?!"
I must admit that "Screamworks: Love In Theory & Practice" wasn't a great masterpiece of HIM. I really liked "In Venere Veritas" and "Heartkiller" but all in all this album had a totally different sound compared to other stuff by HIM. Maybe it was too happy? Maybe it depended on the fact, that it was produced with Matt Squire in america?! I can't tell but I think the atmosphere was totally different while producing. (Of course I'm not an expert!)
I've read, that Ville dedicated this album to a woman (who said no by the way - which woman says no to a beautiful, intelligent avid reader dedicating a whole album to her? xD). As you can see I'm concerned with real important questions but I bet they're more fun than those questions, which were asked by Descartes or Kant and friends. Just saying.
I was a bit disappointed because that what I've heard on Screamworks wasn't HIM but it was kind of american-wannabe-rockband, who tried to copy the sound of HIM. So it just can get better! :D
This year in may Mark Halupczok has published a biography about HIM. I'm a great fan but I've read in that book much information I didn't know until I've read the book. Admittedly it's not really a book about the band, it's more a biography about Ville Hermanni Valo (what a nice name!). At least I had that feeling while reading lots of information about him and less about the band. Nevertheless it's a cool book. I just can advice it to you.

passion victim
Hey guys!
I hope you're fine these days.
First of all I need to advice you a quite awesome song performed by one of my favourite bands called "Social Distortion". If you don't know this band but you are totally in love with punk music or country or rockabilly, you should listen to at least one of their songs! One of their songs I'm addicted these days is called "Dear Lover" (maybe you remember my last 10-minutes-poem with the same title). Now you know where my title comes from ;D.
I'm really into that song because I totally love the voice of Mike Ness. It's like when you feel pain anywhere inside your body, then his voice and the whole Social Distortion sound is like a fishing rod grabbing the fish called "pain" and then the band pulls this pain out of you. Okay at this moment I don't have any other description but this is my metaphor for that, what Social Distortion is doing with me xD... sounds weird but anyway! Just give it a shot and hopefully you will understand. Maybe that is the reason for the title of their latest album "Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes". I mean nursery rhymes are songs for children... at least I thought so. Nursery rhymes are meant to calm children... and so the songs calm me.
In the song "Dear Lover" (album: White Light White Heat White Trash, 1996) Ness' voice gets even higher a bit and then it sounds so gently and fragile. Nevertheless it's not right to say, that this song is a fucked up sob stuff. Nope, it isn't! I even can't understand why some people in the past critizised the band for writing lovesongs. I mean why not?
Soo.. this was about my passion for Social Distortion. I'm pondering to get the biography of Mike Ness. I guess he had an weird and interesting life and maybe still has.
Unfortunately I can't find any video on youtube to show you "Dear Lover" but I advice you to listen at least to "Machine Gun Blues". They made a nice video. The setting takes place back in the 1930s or so. Nice cars, nice men and nice women and ugly weapons!
